alden's easter weekend

It's been a while since we posted anything new, but here are some pictures from Easter. We went to the Bunny Bounce at the Woodland Park Zoo with our friends Caley (in the pink), Addie, and Bill. It was a little chilly, but we all had fun anyway. The kids had a great time picking up eggs (even though there wasn't much "hunt" involved). The eggs were empty, supposedly for the protection of the animals, but they got candy at the gate when we left so everyone was happy. Alden thought the best part was filling his bucket so that he could dump all the eggs back out onto the ground.

It was a hard week for Alden's daddy at work, so we decided to make him cookies to surprise him when he got home. Alden was a pretty good helper and loved to dump the ingredients in the bowl. He was also a pretty good taste tester... as you can see from the pictures! Note the Dennis the Menace hair-do. He had just got up from his nap.

a trip to a farm

We've had a fun few weeks this month! Yesterday we took a trip to the zoo with some friends and last week our playgroup took a field trip to Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue. It was such a cute place and Alden had a blast. We got to see cows, pigs, horses, goats, chickens, bunnies, and more. Alden really liked their John Deere tractor and was a little disappointed that he couldn't ride it. He's been telling everyone about the animals and the tractor since we went there. He always points out that "you can't ride the tractor" and sometimes he even makes sure that people know that "you can't ride the bunnies" and the other animals either. We're hoping to go back some time when daddy can join us.
