a daddy & doggy day

Yesterday Alden and I had the chance to go to the Lynnwood library for storytime with Emily Elizabeth (from Clifford the big red dog). Alden was so excited to see her and even went up and gave her a big hug before she left. We also entered a drawing and won two tickets to "Clifford the Big Red Dog: Live" which Alden went to this morning with his daddy. It was a special day because they drove there in Patrick's truck which always gets Alden excited.
Note Alden's hair in this next picture... sides are short, top is long. There's a bit of a story behind that! Last night we decided it was time for a hair cut, or as Alden calls it, a "clip-clip." The back and the left side were finished and I was just about done with the right side and ready to move to the top when—OUCH!! I caught Alden's poor little ear in the scissors. And that was it. The end. Hair cut over. Now we're not quite sure how to coax our little traumatized 2-year-old back into the hair cutting chair.
